**Dubai:** Tensions have reportedly escalated within the UAE unit of INCAS, a Congress-affiliated expatriate organisation, after no organisational action was taken against a leader facing an allegation of sexually assaulting a young woman after promising to marry her. A section of members has come forward in protest, expressing strong disagreement over the absence of action against those facing allegations.

Members have publicly voiced their opposition through official WhatsApp groups. Their main demand is that those facing the allegations should be immediately removed from their official positions. The members have also expressed strong displeasure over the participation of the accused leaders in public programmes attended by ministers in recent days.

However, those facing the allegations have so far not provided clarification or an explanation regarding the accusations against them. The protesting members have decided to proceed with a public protest if the party does not adopt what they consider an appropriate position on the matter. A section of the members is expected to reach Thiruvananthapuram this week to personally bring the seriousness of the issue to the attention of the KPCC president, an AICC general secretary, the Chief Minister and the Home Minister.

According to the complaint, police recently registered an FIR and began an investigation against an Alappuzha native, who is the INCAS UAE National Committee secretary and a businessman. The complaint was submitted by a woman from Thiruvananthapuram through email to Dubai Police and the Kerala Director General of Police. The complainant has stated that she stands by the allegations.

According to the woman's complaint, the leader established a friendship with her by taking advantage of her difficult financial circumstances and assuring her that he could help repay her bank loans and protect the future of her children. She alleges that, after promising to legally marry her in the UAE, he took her to residences in Dubai and Kayamkulam and sexually exploited her on several occasions.

When she demanded that the promises be fulfilled, the complaint states that he delayed the matter by saying that he would take a decision after his daughter's marriage, scheduled for December 2025. The complainant alleges that even after the marriage, he attempted to avoid fulfilling the promise and that he insulted and forced her out when she reached his business establishment in Al Qusais, Dubai, while also threatening her.The complaint further alleges that an attempt was made to damage her reputation by spreading false stories with sexual overtones about her.

The woman has also alleged that prominent members of the organisation are helping the accused, who is currently said to have switched off his phone and gone into hiding. She said that, after being abandoned by her husband, she has no other means to support her family consisting of her mother and two children. She also stated that she was facing foreclosure proceedings because she could not repay her bank loan and that she would continue fighting for justice until the end.
